I understand that most are going to instinctively disagree with me because I support the Hickses.

TD, it's not an 'instinctive' disagreement but a considered one. Let's rewind to when Hicks and Gillett first took ownership of the club. There was little if any protest against the deal. Some people where disappointed that DIC didn't take over but those absolutely against Hicks and Gillett were in a tiny minority. It's since they took over that the hatred has developed, as a direct result of their actions and words. If DIC had taken over and done the same thing, they would now be equally hated.

It's not an Anti-American or anti-Foreigner thing either. Look at Newcastle. An Englishman bought an English club. He's hated. Freddie Sheppard, the former chairman, a Geordie, one of their own, is involved with a consortium who are one of the bidders for the club. He's hated.

And why are these feelings prevailant amongst all these fans?

There's an old but true addage that explains it perfectly - 'Behaviour causes behaviour.'

Well said Tes

I''d just like to add I've always found your posts measured and insightful. Now I'll go back to my hole. As I'm really in the wrong forum and only stumbled across it for the wrong reasons but having some sibling rivalry I still like to see the views of measured fans.

P.S.
Don't even get me started on Moneybags Owen...
