Would like to see Valencia arrive from Wigan (not the team) Looks like a good player. Hard to get  quality in the Jan sales.

Good point about quality in Jan. Martin, have you seen much of Valencia? Last time we bought a winger off Bruce, we ended up with Pennant. Interesting that Bruce seems to have quoted values for Hesky, but I've seen none for Valencia quoted.

any newspaper links/photos to the demos there, iskoppa?

it is awful to think of the people who have lost their pension pots, savings etc.

bankers and politicians should be jailed for their fraud/incompetence.

Yes Dude there is, go to www.grapevine.is , its a free English language rag here in Reykjavik and its latest issue is called "How The CRUNCH Stole Christmas!"
Check it out and some of the back editions!  Plus as for the B&P's being jailed I could not agree more!  The article you should read is THE DAY WE STARTED FIGHTING BACK.

Have seen Valencia play quite a bit. Looks a top player with pace, power and a cracking shot. Seems fairly consistent and when playing against the top teams has managed to shine. Talking ten million. The sale of Pennant, Benayoun or Babel (sadly) could fund the transfer.

great link/site............thanks, iskoppa.

amazing to see the level of turmoil there - with police stations being surrounded, with the crowds demanding the release of one of their own.

and parliament getting rotten eggs thrown at it.

when people have lost everything, they have every right to tackle the banks and the politicians.

the cuxnts should be in jail, serving life terms.

Great site - gonna do a lot more reading of other articles.

No worries Dude, glad to have been of service!  Its a good little paper, I've read it since day one.  Might not agree with all that it has to say, but it covers a lot of stuff that rest of the the rags here avoid!

yes, much le the UK rags then it seems.

the big newspaper corporations (murdoch and co) only want to feed the sheep a diet of tits, booze and scandal.

That's why I think more and more of us now love chatting on the web.  It's REAL on the web......real people talking about their real lives......not some airbrushed image or crap in some rag.

re real life - I suspect that a lot of companies are holding off on major job loss announcements until the new year.

you've reminded me of that great voice of Bob Hoskins, doing that 'It's good to talk' advert.   He was superb in The Long Good Friday.......acting at it's finest.

that final scene was especially good.....a master class in acting by Hoskins.

he thinks he's home and dry, he's finally beaten his enemies (who he didn't know, or could ever figure out) and then walks out of his building/hotel, and into his usual chauffeur driven big car......only to find the two men in the front are IRA men....and he is being taken to his demise.

There are no words spoken....and the scene which lasts for many minutes til the close of the movie, has the camera focused on Hoskins, who is sitting in the back seat of the car.....you see his facial movements and eyes, and how he slowly starts to understand and realise the whole thing.....and he slowly starts to accept his fate.

Acting at it's finest.

it's gonna be my first ever festive period spent away from home......it's gonna be hard to get used to eating my Christmas lunch on the terrace by the pool....in t-shirt and shorts.

sitting there right now, drinking wine, and enjoying the breeze.

I don't know which I find harder to believe, Real Madrid wanting Pennant (the article itself), or if true, Pennant's crass stupidity.

So he wants an extra £1.5m a year? What sort of wages and signing on fee does he think he is going to get if he goes on a free in the Summer? How many of the clubs that are realistically going to be interested in him are going to match the wages we pay him?

He's been offered a chance to stay in 'the big time' and he's totally blown it. Just how much J.D has he been consuming?
