Rooney is out with a calf injury

apparently said calf got injured when Farmer Rooney was moving his herd to fresh pastures.

Vet has been informed...and the appropriate 37 EU forms have been completed.
hey, careful man, there's a beverage here

I hope the herd didn't pick anything up. I hate it when cattle are slaughtered.

Cheers for putting up the links Tes, saved me some time tonight mucho appreciated!
So was any of the other walking wounded 'made' to travel to be checked out by the FA medics?

Despite the fact Bevington mentions 'players' I haven't seen any other names mentioned. Fat Frank was declared unfit at the same time (something about a rib, probably eating too many of them) as Gerrard but he hardly has to travel to prove anything eitherway.

If I get the time tonight I'll do some checking on the 'others', you mentioning ribs reminded me of the "What do I get for a rib then?"  (bad) Joke!  :)

Can't get an answer out of the FA for 5 working days so I'll try calling on the morrow!
Capello said.  "We decided to check 'all' the players to see if it was possible for them to recover or not" and then added "From now on, the rule will be our doctor will check the physical condition of the players".
But only two had to travel and they were SG and the dim lamp to the England base in Hertfordshire, because there injury's came so late!!  Well if that is the case for future injury's the clubs should demand the FA doctors go and check out the players at there clubs home ground, seems only fair to me!

Taken from a Times report about Wenger and his Walcottic problems:

If Capello can expect an uncomfortable conversation with Wenger today, he may also be irritated when he sees photographs of two of his senior England squad players who dropped out through injury appearing to take part in a full-blooded training session yesterday. Joe Cole and Ashley Cole, who pulled out of England duties because they were had ankle and calf injuries respectively, joined their Chelsea team-mates for training in Cobham, Surrey.

The Times contained non of the afforementioned photos, why?
Now let's see if the 'Savern press' jump all over this like they did with Gerrards withdrawal.
I'm guessing the new stadium will be in need of a refurb before that happens.
